The Co-Founders

Angela LaRue, RN

Angela LaRue is the founder and CEO of A LaRue Company, home of the LaRue Surgical Evacuator. Prior to inventing the LaRue Surgical Evacuator, Angela spent several years as an Operating Room Nurse, specializing in Plastic Surgery. Angela’s experience in Plastic Surgery led to the discovery of an unmet need in the operating room.


In 2019 Angela started A LaRue Company in an effort to change the standard of care for women with breast implants. She has invented and patented a surgical device that removes silicone and other gelatinous materials from the body. 


Angela’s greatest strengths are her creativity, drive and leadership. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that improve women’s health through the development of new products to aid surgeons in the operating room.

Chan LaRue

Chan LaRue is Co-founder and COO of A LaRue Company, Inc., home of the LaRue Surgical Evacuator. The LaRue Surgical Evacuator is the only patented medical device designed to remove leaking, ruptured or nonruptured silicone Breast Implants and other gelatinous materials from the body.


Before devoting his work full time to A LaRue Company, Chan was a self-employed business owner. His company, LaRue, Inc. DBA C. LaRue Hoops, offered basketball instruction and programs to more than 300 children and adults in childcare centers and gyms, including travel team programs across North Carolina.


Chan was Executive Director of VK Centers, a real estate and child development company with Three million annual revenue and 50 employees. In his position, he was responsible for all aspects of corporate management. Chan also has experience in sales with Caudill's Automation Solutions, a First Alert and Honeywell dealer, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Microfilm and Imaging World, a Kodak Broker.

Al S. Aly, M.D

  •  Al Aly is an international leader in complex aesthetic and plastic surgery, but his true specialty is bringing extraordinary care to his everyday practice.
  • Dr. Aly earned his medical degree at Georgetown University. He completed his internship at UCLA Medical Center, his residency in otolaryngology at Vanderbilt Medical Center, and an additional residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami. He received advanced training in facial plastic surgery through a fellowship at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center.
  • He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
  • He has lectured and performed surgical demonstrations in more than 35 countries. He serves as the Body Contouring Section Editor for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal and is past President of the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation.

Kevin Evans

  • Mr. Evans is a results-driven professional with over 35 years of experience in the medical device industry and brings a wealth of knowledge in both the clinical and non-clinical areas for healthcare providers and hospital systems. Mr. Evans’ background includes solution design, strategic development, customer experience, training and development, and site implementation projects. 
  • Mr. Evans has been involved with the development of strategies, implementations, and customer support for Mayo Clinic, HSHS Health Systems, Children’s Hospitals and numerous other hospitals and clinics.

Billy Waldrop

  • Billy has spent his career managing and developing complex systems for the manufacturing and healthcare industries. 
  • He assisted in launching the joist division of CMC Steel into the 21st century with his knowledge of systems design and project management. He went on to spend nearly 10 years at the Mayo Clinic, where he supervised and directed teams responsible for the development and support of critical Patient Financial Services systems. 
  • He was also responsible for the design and implementation of a Citrix deployment to enable the delivery of Mayo Clinic’s Electronic Medical Records applications. 
  • He has a strong background in process engineering, defining clear-cut policies and procedures, and designing system architectures that achieve significant business results. 

Kathleen Blankenship

  • Kathleen is an experienced healthcare leader with 15 years broad experience ranging from revenue operations, strategic growth proforma development, healthcare operations/practice management, and service line development. 
  • Transitioned from hospital leadership as a Director of Wound Care/HBOT and Ostomy Services to explore multiple wound care and cardiovascular industry roles, including regional sales, health economics/market access, and national accounts/business development. 
  • Aligning cross functional teams on developing and operationalizing strategic plans has been a constant practice throughout my professional career.
